Podcast Industry Roundup: Events, Trailers, and NYC Meetups in Audio Space
This is a creator industry roundup focused on the audio space

Hey This & That’ers,
Been a while. A few notes up top:
Read this week’s issue of the EarBuds newsletter, which features podcasts on the court of public opinion.
Trailer Park: The Podcast Trailer Podcast is back with a new episode, featuring the trailer for Black and CULTivated. Find out what works and what doesn’t quite hit in this trailer. And submit your own trailer!
🗽Are you in New York? Do you want to know about a recurring IRL event series I’m hosting for podcast people? Let me know so I can add you to the list.
Questions? Hit reply on this email. Let’s talk.
Subscribe to my podcast recommendation newsletter, EarBuds. You can get your show featured!
This & That with Arielle Nissenblatt shares smatterings from around the podcast and audio world. Think: ideas, resources, events, discussions, opportunities, and more.
It comes out irregularly (when I feel like it). It's an experiment with inconsistency in content creation.
Events

If you make a podcast and have considered starting a newsletter to go along with it, this event will make sure you get it started.
July 18th 10-5pm ET but you can really use the resources whenever you want. Let me know if you want access on a different date.
At the end of the day, you'll have the beginnings of your newsletter, which entails:
Your email service provider
A name for your newsletter
Frequency
Tone / scope
One-liner describing the newsletter and who it's for
Statement of "how does the content of this newsletter differ from the content of my podcast?"
Pre-written social posts that announce your newsletter to your online audience
30 and 60-second ad copy to introduce your newsletter to your podcast audience
Structure of your next three issues
Things I’m thinking about:
Time capsule: how do articles, social posts, and physical print-outs age in the so far short-lived podcast industry? I’m thinking about that in a new series on LinkedIn.
Press release: I usually do absolutely NOTHING with the press releases I receive from podcast marketers and PR folks. But now, I’m adding those links to Podcast Plunge.
New👂: congrats to Rococo Punch on the launch of the latest season of The Turning: River Road.
